Executive Chef and co-owner, Marek, has a passion for his business and the quality of food delivered from his kitchen. He personally oversees the design of all seasonal menus, the choice of suppliers and all team recruitment. 2015 saw him being accredited the title of a “Master Chef of Great Britain”. Joining an elite group of only around 250 chefs throughout the UK, he is the first Polish chef to be appointed this prestigious title.
Being married to Marek, Magda has an equal passion for the restaurant trade and has extensive experience in front-of-house management. Her attention to detail, staff development and gaining a sound understanding of Tabou’s customers has ensured the restaurant delivers impeccable service to its loyal customers.
Derek strengthened the management team in 2013 when he joined the business as a co-owner. Bringing a wealth of business skills and experience to the restaurant, he excels in marketing and commercial management which has proved complementary to Marek and Magda’s skills. He has been instrumental in the development of Café Tabou becoming one of Scotland’s leading restaurants.
Donna has been with Café Tabou since 2010 and now assumes the position of Senior Sous Chef. Donna’s hard work and dedication to constructing menus using only the finest ingredients have ensured the variety and quality of our servings are of the highest standard. Donna has a passion for French Cuisine and is a great asset to the restaurant where she uses her knowledge and experience which she has gained from her work around the world.
Local man, Colin Mailer joined team Tabou in 2016 and brings with him a wealth of experience, having worked in many other high quality restaurants all over Scotland. Colin is passionate about creating menus using only the finest Scottish produce and loves to showcase his talents at our prestigious themed dinners throughout the year.
