The key focus for the team at Café Tabou is to provide a first-class quality of service to customers and ensure their visit is a memorable one.

This attention to detail from the kitchen and the front-of-house teams has resulted in a number of significant accreditations and award wins:

  • In 2015, Executive Chef and co-owner, Marek Michalak, was accredited the title of a “Master Chef of Great Britain”. On receiving this, he joined an elite group of around only 250 chefs throughout the UK and he is the first Polish chef to be appointed the title.
  • The restaurant has won the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Star Award for Excellence in Customer Service. This award win was significant due to the competitive nature of this category which attracts nominations from across all industry sectors. Café Tabou was the only Perthshire restaurant short-listed as a finalist.
  • Café Tabou’s scholarship student of Perth College UHI, James Ross, won the award for Culinary Excellence at the college’s 2016 prize-giving. As part of James’ studies he worked with Marek and the kitchen team on a regular basis throughout the academic year.
